It was really good that I have chosen the info talk before volunteering. I initially wanted to volunteer in the Amazon rainforest where I wanted to work with children. After the info talk, however, we found out that teaching isn’t actually that much my thing as I thought it would be. 

I figured out I would be better off at the coast in Ecuador, because the climate is less humid, it’s got an all year round comfortable temperature, there is more to do at the weekends than in the jungle and I like the ocean, swimming and being on the beach anyways.

I also like animals. So I decided to work with giant sea turtles instead which actually turned out to have been one of the best experiences in my life. And I could also improve my Spanish skills to such an extend that I am much more comfortable now talking to people in Spanish.
