In total, my stay at the Surf and Help Camp was very nice. The accommodation was a good place to live; it was cozy and never boring there. The people at the language school are extremely professional and very kind. There is nothing to complain about in the first week of Spanish and surfing lessons. The same is true for the people at the marine wildlife centre. In our two weeks of project work we got to do some of the jobs of the people working there, especially the feeding of the animals. I also helped to brainstorm, develop, and present ideas about how to educate the local population about marine wildlife and environmental protection. The staff all seem to be highly motivated about environmental issues and care a lot about animals; they are also highly professional and have a lot of expertise; and of course are very excited about anything that can be accomplished during project work that does something more for the environment and the people’s education about it.
