Whilst at the animal shelter project I worked closely with the NGO Taxi hosts Ceasar & Victoria. I helped to coordinate all ground operations and we quickly became ‘bien amigos’. Most of my fellow NGO Taxi volunteers were from Germany – they were very helpful and quickly became bien amigos too. I also prepared food and fed many different animals at the project, and participated in an overnight camping trip to nearby sites within the Amazon jungle. We visited beautiful vast areas with so many different animals, etc. The monkeys were particularly smart and mischievous!
I would recommend this project to all who are interested in learning new survival skills, how to best serve people, and about animals in interesting and challenging situations.
