I had a good experience at the Surf and Help Camp. I learned the basics about how to care for marine animals and also the reasons why animals get into situations, sometimes caused by humans, that mean that they end up in rescue centres. But probably the most important thing I’ve learned is the unawareness of the locals about plastic pollution, and how it affects the environment and themselves. I worked with some motivated people that also had some good and nice ideas about how to improve awareness of environmental problems.
Overall, I felt that I helped build a strong base for future volunteers that could change things, especially regarding the plastic and pollution problem.
